Stacey Tocker

Director / Solicitor

LLB (Honours) – University of Otago

Nelson is my home town.  After studying in Dunedin, I started out as a lawyer in Invercargill working in a range of areas of general practice and dispute resolution.  I moved back to Nelson in 2011 and initially worked at two law firms, alongside raising my family, before launching my own practice in 2018.  In 2019, I joined forces with Amanda to create DMK Law Ltd.

My key experience is in family and employment law, but since 2015 I have specialised in family law.
I am passionate about assisting people to resolve disputes.  My approach is empathetic and supportive while providing clear, practical advice.  I am here to help.

As well as acting for clients (be that parents, grandparents or other caregivers), I am also on the panel of lawyers appointed by the Court to represent children in Court proceedings.

Amanda Munting-Kilworth

Director / Solicitor

LLB/BA(Psychology)/AAMINZ – University of Canterbury

Nelson is my hometown.  After university and time practicing law in Christchurch and London I returned home in 2011.  I initially practiced at two other Nelson law firms before setting up DMK Law Ltd with Stacey.

I am an experienced employment and family lawyer.  The core values I focus on when engaging with clients is to understand their drivers and provide strategic legal advice with empathy.

As an employment lawyer, I provide advice that includes analysis and key options with a future focussed approach.

Assisting clients to find legal solutions and gain knowledge that they can use and build on is my greatest reward.

In my family law practice I am pragmatic and empathetic.  My key focus is to provide clients with advice which empowers them and uncovers pathways that are practical and enduring.

I am a qualified mediator and an Associate member of AAMINZ (Arbitrators and Mediators Institute of New Zealand) providing mediation services in both family and employment disputes.

Solicitors

Angel Miller

Solicitor

LLB – University of Waikato

I graduated from the University of Waikato in December 2020. I have completed my professional legal studies through IPLS and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in October 2023.

I am a Taranaki girl born and raised and enjoy visiting home regularly. I moved to Nelson in March 2022 with my husband as career opportunities were provided to us both.

During university I interned for the Crown Prosecutor’s Office in Whanganui and gained invaluable experience on drafting submissions and how to conduct legal research.

For just under a year, I was a Court Registry Officer for the Nelson Family Court. This experience has given me an in-depth knowledge of Family Court processes including how court files are managed and the inner workings of the courtroom.

I am currently working with all the directors of the firm and am assisting in a range of family law files.  I am a supervised legal aid provider.

I aim to bring an empathetic and pragmatic approach to any matter I am assisting on.

I graduated University in November 2022 and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in June 2023. I am new to the Nelson area and am excited to be beginning my legal career at DMK Law.

Prior to starting work at DMK Law, I worked as a Police Prosecution Intern for 18 months alongside my final year of university study. This has already exposed me to a range of family law areas including family
violence related offending.

I have an empathetic approach to what can often be a difficult time for clients. My goal is to provide practical legal advice that will be in you and your whanau’s best interests, whether that be outside or through the Court process. I am a supervised legal aid provider.

I look forward to meeting new clients and their whanau.
